Hello Viper Fans! This week the Vipers would like to feature our DVHL Mites. The DVHL Mites are also known as the Travel Mites. The DVHL team was part of the AvalancheXpress Mite Outdoor Classic Hockey Tournament the weekend of January 5th. The tournament was at the Heritage Hills Outdoor Rink. Heritage Hills is a cool place, to skate outdoors and tube. It is in York, right along 83. Nice place to check out for some outdoor winter activities. They play golf there in the summer too!
The DVHL Mites first game was Friday, January 5th right under the lights, with a win over Union Thunder. The Mites faced the Union Thunder again on Saturday morning and won 23-3 in the middle of a snowstorm. The Vipers played the York Devils later that morning, in a tight game losing 12-8. A rematch for the tournament trophy was the next day, and our Vipers won 16-3 to lock up first place in our division.
Congratulations to our Young Mites, on this cold but fantastic tournament. Thanks to all the coaches, and the team manager for all you do!
