On November 5, 2017, the Vipers joined the JDRF One Walk on City Island in Harrisburg, PA. The JDRF One Walk has one goal: to create a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D). The total raised from this event was $277,473! Thanks to all of the Vipers that participated.

Facing the Jersey Shore Wildcats in the quarter finals in a 6:15 am game, the Vipers got off to a slow start and were down 3-1 halfway through the game. Paul Smith and Alex Cassivi (with 11 seconds remaining) scored third period goals to take the game to overtime. Eight minutes in the overtime, William Hershey scored the dramatic game winner on a fantastic pass from Sean Cudahy.
In the semi-final, the Vipers faced the Mid-Hudson Polar Bears and got off to a better start than their early morning game. Ryan Norris, Max Wilson, and William Hershey scored first period goals which were enough to carry the team to a 3-1 win.
After this the Vipers are on to the Championship game against the Warwick Wildcats. After a tightly matched first period, Alex Cassivi gave the Vipers a 1-0 lead in the second period. Aidan Young scored the insurance marker late in the third period to give the Vipers a 2-0 lead, which stood as the final score. Goaltenders Nick Mutschler and Connor Halpert were solid and shared a shutout in the finals.
With strong goaltending and defense, the Vipers allowed 8 goals in 6 games. Offensively, 12 different players found the back of the net throughout the tournament.
